how am i doing?

So a common theme around the office has been the thought that we live with filters. We try to cover up the sin in our hearts through right action, that doesn’t flow from a good heart but rather tries to cover up a bad one. A huge way to combat this is to be open and honest with each other about where are hearts are (confess your sins one to another right)? The filter is not an option when you go ahead and show someone else where your heart is. But then i thought this….

Most of the time my filters are probably not as good as I think they are. Meaning that what I think I am covering up (or truly what I don’t even see in my own heart) is glaringly obvious to people who are around me.

When is the last time you have asked those around what sin patterns they see in your life? They see them in you (as surely as you can point out the problems with everyone else around you). Do you want to know? Are you around people who will be honest?

This is the culture we must have if we reallly want to experience heart and life change. This is not an easy culture to create. It is a fight. This is a war.

PS — this is not done with someone so you can then get your turn to let them know what their problems are
